24X7 media channels documented every twist and turn that the Noida double murders took. Here are a few that shaped the way we would come to view the case.
Two years after the conviction of Nupur and Rajesh Talwar in the Noida double murders case, a panel discussion examined the question that was foremost in everyone’s mind: Had justice been served? The panellists, including author and journalist Avirook Sen, Aarushi’s aunt, Dr Vandana Talwar, and the DG of UP Police, Vikramjit Singh, argued over the trial and vilification campaign that the media had unleashed and the vitriolic character assassinations that might have affected the court’s verdict.
In a 2011 article for OPEN magazine, author Patrick French called out the Indian media on their shockingly unprofessional coverage of the murders. Titled Worse than a Daughter’s Death, the article is rife with examples of how the news media aided the miscarriage of justice.
