A couple of weeks ago, actor Akshay Kumar announced that he will be the next guest on Into the Wild with Bear Grylls, a show that has in recent years seen the appearance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and superstar Rajinikanth.

On Thursday, the actor went live on Instagram with his co-star from the upcoming film BellBottom, Huma Qureshi, and the survivalist to discuss the upcoming episode. During the chat, in which the trio discussed a few of the stunts from the show, Kumar made a rather surprising announcement.

When asked how he managed to drink “elephant poop tea”, as revealed by the trailer of the episode last week, Akshay Kumar said it wasn’t a problem because he was used to drinking gomutra, or cow urine, as Ayurvedic medication every day.

“I don’t know how we ended up doing that but it wasn’t too bad, was it?” Grylls first said in response to Qureshi’s question on the tea. To which, Kumar said: “I wasn’t worried. I was too excited to be worried. For Ayurvedic reasons, I’ve had cow’s urine every day. So, this was okay.” His reply took Grylls by surprise who said: “Not too many of my guests say that.”

Twitter, meanwhile, had a field day following the revelation.

With some even trying to bribe Akshay Kumar into posting a video of him drinking gomutra for proof.

Bear Grylls was full of praise for the Bollywood actor through the rest of the clip. “The thing that shines brightest about you AK is your humility. Also, you are such a fun guy and you don’t have an ego. I think in the wild when sometimes people get nervous, their ego gets stronger. You were super relaxed and keen to have fun,” he says in the stream that has over 4 million views.

Kumar goes on to teach Grylls how to say “never give up” in Hindi, and says that the first thing he would do if he woke up as the survivalist would be to jump out of a plane, or swim with the whales.

Khiladi Akshay Kumar is known for his martial background, with a black belt in Taekwondo. He also performs his own stunts in most films, as well as during his time as the host of Khatron Ke Khiladi. The episode of Into the Wild, in which he can be seen performing more death defying stunts will go live on September 14.

And now we know the secret behind Akshay Kumar’s fitness.
