In these fast-paced and unforeseen times, movies and music are perhaps the only constants in our lives. While many find solace in their favourite dialogues from movies, or in lyrics written by their favourite artists, for others, creating is an outlet for their emotions. And often, an extension of their passion.

The India Film Project believes in helping these passions grow so artists find an audience that resonates with their vision. After all, every artist needs a community that not only helps their craft grow but also understands its purpose.

Since its inception in 2011, the India Film Project has worked tirelessly to mould this community. Almost a decade in, it has transformed into an unstoppable force that has helped creators flourish while also following their dreams.

Gearing up for Season 10, which launched with the “7-Day Challenges” earlier this month, the IFP is back with a new set of “50-Hour Challenges”, that will once again, give artists a space to showcase their creativity.

If you’ve one of those who dare to dream big, then this is your stage!

1. 50-Hour Filmmaking Challenge:

Calling all budding filmmakers and crews! Get your camera rolling, and prepare for the challenge of a lifetime!

The IFP is inviting applicants to choose a category that best fits their level of skill — Professional, Amateur or Mobile — and script, shoot, edit, and release a short film based on the theme disclosed. Here’s the catch though — you only get 50 hours to put together your masterpiece from scratch.

Not only do the winning films in each category get a theatrical release in PVR Cinemas, the top 100 films will be broadcasted on MTV India. The winners also bag a chance to engage in a one-on-one session with members of the jury, including Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Raj and DK, and Shubhashish Bhutiani! There are more prizes to look forward to.

The last date to register for the 50-Hour Filmmaking Challenge is 11:59 pm, Sept 24. To register, click here.

2. 50-Hour Music Challenge:

Are you an aspiring musician looking for a big break? Come and put your best tune forward! But fair warning once again: You only get 50 hours to create a brand new song!

Still can’t wait to create those beats? Trust us, jury members Dualist Inquiry, Lisa Mishra, Naezy, Raman Negi, and Vasu Dixit are equally excited to hear them! So set-up your teams, tune your instruments, pick your genre — between Rock, Pop, Folk-Fusion, Hip-Hop or EDM — and get the party started!

Winning songs will be produced into a music video and broadcasted on MTV India. Plus the top winners from each genre will be featured in MTV Beats Discover, and more!

The last date to register for the 50-Hour Music Challenge is 11:59 pm, Sept 17. To register, click here.

Winners of all challenges will earn a special one-on-one mentoring session with a member of the illustrious juries. Participants across all challenges at IFP will also receive three-months of free access to SkillShare, to upgrade their skills.

So whether you decide to enthrall the world with your ability to tell a story through film, or prefer to let music channel your vision, it’s time to get creative.
