The lockdown extension might flatten the curve, and eventually make people run out of challenges to try, but it got nothing on this duo’s dosti that redefines “Friends don’t let friends do stupid things… alone.”

In a series of rather unfortunate events, a quarantine-frustrated teen in Mangalore decided to smuggle his friend into his apartment by stuffing him in a suitcase. Yes, you read that right. But the bizarre attempt hardly met any success as they were caught in the act by neighbours who then complained to the police. A case has now been registered against the two minors. The teens are to be produced before the Juvenile Justice board. Please say sike!

Following the coronavirus scare, like many other housing societies, the apartment complex located on Arya Samaj Road in Mangalore has prohibited outsiders from entering as a safety precaution. However, the teen was so bored out of his mind that he kept pestering the apartment association to allow his friend to keep him company.

When all his requests fell on deaf ears and were met with denial, the boy resorted to a much Bollywood-esque plan to sneak his friend into the apartment. On Sunday, the ambitious teen packed his friend into a huge suitcase and decided to wheel him in. But his bold approach met a futile defeat when residents in the complex noticed the boy struggling with the suitcase. It only went downhill from thereon. Every time the suitcase hit a bump, there was a noticeable movement from inside the bag.

Growing suspicious, the elderly residents insisted that the boy open the suitcase there itself, but never in their wildest dreams did they expect another human to spring out of it. Following the unexpected reveal, the residents called up the police who came and took the two to the station. The parents of both the teenagers were later summoned to the station.

According to the residents, the boy simply wanted his friend to spend the remainder of the lockdown period with him. But looks like the odds weren’t truly on his side. We hope their friendship doesn’t succumb to corona.
