In Bhopal, a cloth store owner is selling masks with faces of PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi printed on them. Creepy, isn’t it?
The coronavirus pandemic has made face masks fashionable and one cloth store owner from Bhopal seems to have taken creative liberties to the next level. He is now making masks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s face printed on them.

But if that doesn’t match your political choices, there are options. Masks with prints of Congress’s Rahul Gandhi and former CM Kamal Nath are doing brisk business in the state. There is also one with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s face on it.
“I’ve sold about 500-1000 Modi masks till now and demand for it is high. Masks featuring our CM are also popular. I also have masks with images of Rahul Gandhi and Kamal Nath ji,” Kunal Pariyani told ANI.

Madhya Pradesh is the seventh worst hit state in the country, with over 11,000 cases and 465 deaths. Usage of masks remains mandatory in public places. However, state civil supplies minister Govind Singh Rajput and his supporters were seen disregarding Covid precautionary measures at a political meeting on Saturday night. Rajput’s mask was hanging around his neck and social distancing had gone for a toss. Few days back, agriculture minister Kamal Patel was accused of violating covid rules at Mahakal temple the day it opened after 11 weeks of lockdown.

So if it is going to take masks with Modi’s face on it for people to toe the line, then so be it. But let’s hope the people of Madhya Pradesh will do better than their political representatives and adhere to norms of social distancing and wearing masks.
