Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his Mumbai residence on Sunday morning. The actor was only 34 years old. The news has left Bollywood shocked.
Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his Mumbai residence on Sunday morning. The actor was 34 years old.
“It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life, and his work like they have done so far,” his spokesperson said.
His death has left India grieving. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted a tribute to the actor — who was also a National Olympiad winner in Physics — saying he left behind many memorable performances.

Tributes poured in for the actor from Bollywood’s biggest names, who were left shocked and speechless by the news.

Union Minister Smriti Irani, who fondly remembered working with Singh during his TV days, lamented that he was gone too soon.

Earlier this month, the actor had shared an image of his late mother on Instagram with a poem. “Blurred past evaporating from teardrops. Unending dreams carving an arc of smile. And a fleeting life, negotiating between the two…” his caption read.

Another poem on Instagram, dedicated to his mother, reads: “Do you remember? You promised that you would be with me forever, and I promised you that I would keep smiling no matter what. It seems we both were wrong mother…”The news of his death comes just days after his former manager, Disha Salian, died after reportedly falling from the window of a friend’s flat in Mumbai. At this point, 2020 could not get worse.
